Scope 3 Certification Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission
Klim is seeking a dynamic, innovative Scope 3 Certification Manager to help us become a leader in agricultural insetting services. This role is essential in designing and executing a strategic framework that aligns with key standards such as GHGP’s LSRG, SBTI, and Verra Scope 3, translating complex, evolving Scope 3 certification needs into impactful services for our customers.

As our Scope 3 Certification expert, you will help drive our Scope 3 projects, developing certification frameworks for both intervention-based and inventory-based in agricultural supply chains. You will collaborate with Commercial, R&D, Product and MRV teams to ensure our offerings meet both compliance standards and the practical needs of our clients. This position demands both strategic creativity and a deep knowledge of certification processes to create a versatile suite of certification solutions that address diverse client objectives across both insetting and offsetting.

Your responsibilities:
  • Certification strategy & development: Lead the design and implementation of a flexible, comprehensive suite of certification options tailored to Scope 3 and agricultural insetting, with a clear alignment to Klim’s product offerings by year-end.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with leading certification bodies and standards organisations, including GHGP, SBTI, Verra Scope 3, SustainCert, and ISO 14067. Your proactive networking and industry engagement will position Klim at the forefront of Scope 3 certification trends.
  • Customer-centric solutions: Work closely with clients and the Commercial team to understand their perspectives and interpret ambiguous standards, ensuring that our certification options are both standard-compliant and practically suited to client needs.
  • Offsetting certification involvement: In addition to insetting, take an active role in Klim’s offsetting certification initiatives, ensuring alignment and integration across all Klim projects
  • Project management: Oversee project timelines and tasks to ensure timely, efficient certification processes, especially within Scope 3 and offsetting contexts.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, agriculture, or a related field.

  • A couple of years’ experience in Scope 3 project certification management, ideally within carbon farming or sustainable agriculture.

  • Strong expertise with major Scope 3 standards, including GHGP LSRG, SBTI, Verra Scope 3, SustainCert, and ISO 14067.

  • Strategic thinker with the creativity to develop flexible certification options and the ability to network effectively within the certification community.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a proactive, customer-focused approach to managing timelines and expectations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and a deep commitment to sustainability and innovation in agricultural insetting and offsetting.

  • Experience with technical aspects of GHG quantification, including SOC modeling, LCA, Product Footprinting, removals accounting.
